Capacity

The current Cavallotti Hall is an ideal space to host large events. The optimum number for the hall is 185 people, although we have tables and chairs to seat 200 people.

Fees

The fee for Saturday Rentals for events is $600, and $500 for all other days of the week.

If you plan to use the kitchen for cooking purposes, an additional $100 fee will be added. This includes use of the Lodge’s stove, plates, cups, cutlery and the use of 2 coffee urns (100 cup capacity). If you use the ovens only, the cost is $50. However, if you will just be using the kitchen as a place to serve from, there will be no additional fees.

If you have music, a mandatory Socan Fee of $66.66 will be applied. This is a Government Tax for Music and Dancing.

We require a Damage Deposit of $300. This damage deposit will be refunded once we are able to verify that you have left the space tidy and in the state that you entered it.

G.S.T. (5%) is to be added to the cost of each rental.

If rentals are for 4 (four) hours or less, we charge an hourly rate. This usually applies to functions such as meetings or Celebrations of Life.

Alcohol

If you intend to have alcohol at your function, you will need a Liquor Licence and Liability Insurance up to $2,000,000 for the day. We are required to photocopy/print these documents PRIOR to issuing keys.

Payment

The normal procedure for booking the hall is that we draw up a contract which includes a $100 down payment to secure your booking. Full payment is required approximately 1 month before your event to pay the balance owing and the $300 damage deposit via a cheque post-dated to the day of the function. NOTE that all payments must be made by cheque or cash – we are not able to accept credit cards or debit cards. You can also pay by e-transfer at cavallottilodge@shaw.ca.

Duration of Full Day Rentals

Your rental is from 9:00am on the morning of the event through until 2:00am the following morning. By this time you must be packed up and cleaned up. You cannot return the next day to do this.

Bookings

These are normally completed at the Lodge on Wednesdays afternoons between 12 noon and 3.30pm. Please phone Ian Cumpstone, Cavallotti Lodge President and Rental Manager to make an appointment (250-729-7539).

Please note that all bookings are made at the discretion of the Cavallotti Lodge membership. While we strive to remain an open and inclusive space, we reserve the right to not allow bookings if an event is a conflict of interest or contravenes the values of Cavallotti Lodge.
